Brain Awareness Day

It was Brain Awareness Day at the Main Detroit Public Library today and every egress to the second floor showed you the way, figuring you were too brainless to find the Brain Exhibit otherwise. All sorts of experiments, tests and warnings about your brain. I asked this fellow if he would hold up a brain, and he said, "how about two?" Very accomodating those brain handlers.

Free Living Ameoba - The Movie

I am adapting Microorganisms Resistant to Free-Living Amoebae by Gilbert Greub and Didier Raoult for the microscope. It's a cross beween The Wild One and Fantastic Voyage.
Here's a plot summary:
Neil, a free-living amoeba blissfully feeds on bacteria, fungi, and algae when suddenly an amoeba-resistant microorganism, Bruce, and an emerging pathogen named Jen forever disturb his stable host-parasite ratio.
Will Neil save Jen and end up playing a role in the selection of virulence traits and become a useful tool for the culture of some intracellular bacteria and new bacterial species? Coming soon to a lab near you.
